Grace Trout holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music with a vocal emphasis from San Jose State University. She believes that children have innate creativity and all her work is aimed at creating environments for children to thrive. She has taught music education for the last eight years for pre-school through third grade. She also has co-directed several musicals such as Lion King Jr., Mulan Jr. and Shrek Jr. She has taught beginning American Sign Language classes and designed and taught an imagination class for middle school.
On August 8th, 2020, Grace released her first children’s album, “Lovely (Positive Songs For Children).” You can find her music on Spotify and Apple Music. Currently, Grace is working on releasing her first children’s book. She actively performs as a music fairy for children at festivals and school assemblies.
Throughout her studies at SJSU, Grace has been fortunate to participate in numerous choral concerts including a European tour and chorus for globally renowned concert tenor, Andrea Bocelli at SAP Center.
Her mentors include Prof. Layna Chianakas, Associate Professor of Voice, Voice Area Coordinator and Director of Opera Theatre at San Jose State University; Dr. Charlene Archibeque, SJSU Professor Emeritus and prominent Choral Director and Educator; Dr. Amanda Quist, current professor at Westminster Choir College; and Dr. Jeffrey Benson, current Director of Choral Activities at SJSU.
